The Regional Head of SCD manages a small team of supply chain consulting professionals that provide support to the commercial organization with the objective to accelerate growth with new and existing customers. As a recognized leader with subject matter expertise in supply chain optimization, you are expected to support selected strategic projects, and to directly engage with customers to detect, quantify and implement supply chain initiatives that deliver value to our customers' business. You are also expected to manage the application and lifecycle of Supply Chain Development products.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Regional Chief Commercial Officer and regional leadership team in developing and implementing the internal competencies and processes required to deliver the commercial strategy
• Manage the implementation of the Regional Supply Chain Development strategy and value-creation methodology in line with Global Supply Chain Development strategy
• Work closely with the IMEA commercial team to identify customer needs and strategic commercial opportunities to develop compelling, differentiating value propositions
• Take on selected customer specific projects, as a leading SCD subject matter expert.
• Collaborate with Damco's regional as well as corporate SCD teams
• Support innovation and improvement of supply chain optimization product, methodology, competencies and capabilities
• Identify and share regional best practice, and drive knowledge retention initiatives in Damco's regional supply chain development team, as well as the internally off-shored operations;
• Introduce new global SCD products and concepts to internal stakeholders and manage its lifecycle
• Manage and maintain Regional Supply Chain Development capacity and competencies, as well as attract, actively coach and develop regional supply chain talent;
• Represent SCD in front of internal and external stakeholders
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a supply chain expert with industry expertise, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, whom is commercially savvy, well versed in global supply chain processes and optimization and able to keep Damco's IMEA supply chain optimization capabilities at an industry leading level. You effectively engage at strategic level, and have a pragmatic, hands-on attitude in execution.
You will have 10+ years of working experience in a logistics function within a logistics provider, global corporation and/or consulting firm.
Specific competencies required:
• Strong listener with effective interpersonal and communication skills – ability to engage stakeholders, build buy-in and excitement, working in a matrix organization
• Highly collaborative and with proven ability to build strong relationships and networks both locally and internationally
• Capable leader, both directly in the IMEA team as well as in virtual settings across regions as well as in a matrix setting
• Culturally and organizationally sensitive, able to adapt effectively to different environments
• Focused and result driven, showing energy and passion
• Proven track record in (international) project management, preferably within logistics and supply chain, with strong organizational and planning skills, performs under pressure, meets deadlines,
• Experience in supply chain modeling and solution development
• Expertise in one or more of the following industry verticals: retail, apparel, consumer electronics, chemicals
• Extensive and current knowledge and understanding of international, end-to-end Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Air and Ocean freight practices, concepts, value propositions and new trends
